    Some of our Client's Stories

"I don't have a funny story to tell, but one of gratitude to all the sponsors and individuals that have made my life a little bit more comfortable with the kindness they have provided me. My story started 4 years ago when I actually died (clinically) and was put on emergency life support. The doctors kept telling my mother that she should sign a paper to allow them to take my heart, eyes, and skin; after all, I was dead anyways. My mother pleaded with them not to take me off life support and the hospital gave me until morning and then they would pull the plug with or without her signature. In the morning, when they pulled the plug, I was too stubborn to pass on. It was a miracle. I was in and out of the hospital for about one year; during eight months of that I re-learned how to walk and speak. I became a participant in the food bank during this time, since I was not only receiving a CPP disability cheque that did not cover medical costs. All I can say now is thank you to the volunteers at the food bank and the many thanks to the people that make this all happen with their donations. God bless you all."

"I realised that asking for help is not embarrassing. In this economy, people of all backgrounds need this food bank. I appreciate the staff working hard to help everyone who comes in, no matter what their situation is."

"I had been living in Lethbridge for almost two years when I ran into a bit of a hard time. A week later my self esteem took quite a tumble; my cupboards and fridge were almost bare and it was two weeks until I received my next pay cheque. A friend of mine told me about the Interfaith Food Bank and assured me that they would be more than likely to bridge the gap with a food hamper. When I got to the food bank, I was surprised at the loving and caring response; the reception was second to none and the process only took about fifteen minutes and I was shocked at the amount of food given to me- it was everything I needed/ Thank you Interfaith

P.S. I would recommend them to anyone"
